How European Removals Work
Every European move follows the same four steps, whether you book a part load or a dedicated move.
1. Survey and quote
A short video survey, or an in-home survey, shows us what you are taking and the access at both ends. We then send a written fixed-price quote.
2. Choose your load
Your survey tells us how much you are moving, and how firm your dates are settles the rest. We confirm your choice in the quote, and both options are explained below.
3. Packing and collection
Our crew dismantles furniture and loads at your London address. Add Pack and Move if you want us to pack as well.
4. Customs, transit and delivery
We prepare the customs paperwork in advance, drive your belongings across the border and deliver door to door. Beds, dining tables and desks are reassembled at your new home.
Part load
- Vehicle: shared with other clients moving the same way and consolidated at our Eltham depot.
- Suits: smaller loads and flexible dates.
- Dates and pricing: wider delivery windows on a scheduled run, priced by volume.
Dedicated move
- Vehicle: a van for your belongings only, with no sharing.
- Suits: full house moves and fixed dates.
- Dates and crew: you choose collection and delivery dates, and the crew who load in London deliver at your new address.
Customs basics
- Paperwork: every move from the UK needs customs paperwork. We prepare your inventory and documents in advance and deal with customs officers at the border.
- Duty and VAT: most moves into the EU do not attract import VAT or duty on personal household goods. Destinations outside the EU, such as Switzerland, need fuller customs procedures, and we tell you what applies before you book.
- What you provide: a valid passport, proof of your new address, confirmation of your inventory and any residency or visa documents.

Cost varies with the volume of your belongings, the destination, the type of load and how easy access is at both addresses. Packing and storage are added if you need them. We do not publish set prices because every move differs, so your quote follows a survey.
Choose a dedicated vehicle for a full house move or fixed dates, and a part load for a few rooms with flexible timing. A dedicated move is the fastest route, while a part load shares the vehicle and is priced by volume. Not sure? We recommend one as soon as we have seen what you are moving.
It depends on the country and the type of load. Dedicated moves by road usually take 2 to 4 days to nearby destinations such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland, and 4 to 7 days to farther ones such as Sweden, Finland and Portugal. Part loads take longer, usually 5 to 21 days on these routes. These are estimates, not guarantees, so book four to six weeks ahead and we will confirm dates for your destination.
