Door to Door Removals to Spain From the UK

A move to Spain is a road route. Your belongings travel by van or lorry from your UK address, cross the Channel and continue through France into Spain.

We collect from London and across the UK, working from our base in Eltham, SE9. Most households choose between a part load and a dedicated vehicle. Both are explained below, along with customs, timings and what shapes your quote.

Why Choose Pask’s Removals?

Part Load or Dedicated Vehicle for Spain

A part load shares a vehicle with other clients, and a dedicated vehicle is yours alone. The right choice depends on how much you are moving and how fixed your dates are.

Compare Part load Dedicated vehicle
Vehicle Shares space with other Spain-bound loads, grouped at our Eltham depot A vehicle reserved for your move alone
Suits Flats, smaller households and flexible dates Larger homes, villas, fixed completion dates and high-value furniture
Dates A wider delivery window on a scheduled run You choose the collection and delivery dates
Speed Usually slower, as the run combines several moves Usually quicker, with no other loads to collect or drop
Price basis The space your belongings use The whole vehicle for your move
Crew Our own team collects and delivers door to door The crew who load in the UK deliver in Spain

Not sure which suits you? We recommend one once we know your volume and dates.

What Affects the Cost of Removals to Spain?

The cost of removals to Spain depends on your volume, your choice of load and the access at each end. We do not publish set prices, because no two moves are the same. These are the factors that shape your quote:

  • Volume: how much you are taking is the biggest factor, and it is measured in space on the vehicle.
  • Part load or dedicated: a part load is priced by the space you use, and a dedicated vehicle is priced for the whole journey.
  • Collection point: where in the UK we collect from.
  • Spanish destination: a Madrid flat and a villa on the Costa Blanca involve different distances and access.
  • Access at both ends: stairs, lifts, parking and long carries all add time.
  • Packing: whether our crew packs the whole home, part of it or none of it.
  • Storage: whether your belongings need holding before or after the move.
  • Timing: how fixed your dates are, and whether you move in the busy spring and summer period.

Packing for Your Move to Spain

A long road journey puts more strain on your belongings than a local move. Our crew can pack the whole property or only the fragile and valuable items, using protective wrapping, specialist materials for glassware and artwork, and covers for furniture.

Packing also feeds your customs inventory, the list of what you are shipping.

Storage Before or After Your Move

If your UK and Spanish dates do not line up, we can store your belongings at our Eltham depot in SE9. They wait there before they ship, or until your Spanish property is ready. Units are clean, dry and monitored 24/7, and our own crew loads and reloads them.

Customs and Paperwork After Brexit

Since the UK left the EU, household goods moving to Spain cross a customs border. Spain offers relief from customs duty and VAT on personal belongings when you transfer your normal residence there from outside the EU. The basics below follow guidance from Spain’s tax agency, Agencia Tributaria, updated in February 2026.

The three main conditions are:

  • Residence: you have lived outside the EU, in the UK for example, for at least 12 consecutive months before the move, and you are moving your normal residence to Spain.
  • Ownership: you have owned the items, and used any non-consumables, for at least six months before you move.
  • Timing: the goods are declared to Spanish customs within 12 months of you establishing residence in Spain.

You will usually need to show:

  • a valid passport
  • proof of your Spanish address and residence status, such as your padrón registration and your visa, residence application or TIE card
  • proof you lived in the UK for the previous 12 months, such as tax, utility or insurance records
  • a detailed inventory listing each item’s estimated value and approximate purchase date

We prepare the transport document, packing list and inventory with you, and handle contact with customs officers at the border. We cannot give legal or tax advice, and rules change, so check the full conditions with Agencia Tributaria before you move.

How Long Removals From the UK to Spain Take

A shared load often takes around five to seven days from collection, and a dedicated vehicle is usually quicker. These are estimates, not guarantees. Your schedule, destination and customs formalities all affect the date.

Give us four to six weeks’ notice for a road move, and more in spring and summer when demand for European removals is highest.

Plan around these dates:

  • Four to six weeks before: request your quote and survey, then choose a part load or a dedicated vehicle and a collection date.
  • Before you fix dates: check your visa or residence timetable, because your Spanish residence is part of the proof customs asks for.
  • Before collection: finish the inventory list that customs will ask for.
